I can’t make this stuff up. “Grape thrower called a ‘social terrorist.'” That was the headline of an article in the Detroit Free Press about a woman who threw grapes on stage at a meeting of the Detroit Board of Education. The board was voting to close 34 school buildings.
The president of the board said:
“In the year and a half that we’ve been on board here we have not had that kind of behavior exhibited at the board meetings. She not only threw grapes, but we found tacks on the stage as well. I think she’s a very dangerous person. She calls herself an activist. But I call her a social terrorist.”
Is she an “eco-terrorist” as well? If the PR term is used to label people who “terrorize” in defense of the environment, why not apply it to people who use flora and fauna to “terrorize”? It’s just another logical expansion of the War on Terror, right? Happy Thursday.
