Love the Property Destruction Hypocrisy

Whenever a bulldozer is vandalized, an SUV is spraypainted or a children’s movie encourages compassion for endangered animals, business interests are quick to shout “TERRORIST! TERRORIST!” But property destruction out of self-interest, or purely reckless behavior, is apparently not much of a concern. Check out this recent spat in Nashville, Tenn. Rep. Rob Briley was […]

UK Letter Bomber Uses Animal Rights Messages as “Smokescreen”

A man who sent letter bombs in the UK apparently used hype and fear around “eco-terrorism” as a “smokescreen.” When news of the letter bombs first broke back in January, there was a lot of talk about the fact that one of the envelopes had the words “Dr Barry Horne, RIP” (the name of a […]

Conservatives Caution Against Federal Influence on Domestic “Terrorism”

Great example of how many people may not be sympathetic to people who commit crimes in the name of the environment or animals, but they do see the danger of this ever-expanding “War on Terrorism.” From James Jay Carafano at the Heritage Foundation (click through for his ridiculously-long Heritage style title): Domestic radicalization is a […]

Rod Coronado heads back to federal court today, in what could become (like many of these “Green Scare” prosecutions) a landmark First Amendment case. National Intelligence Director: Debating Spying Will Cause Americans to Die

Blogs and news outlets have been buzzing about yesterday’s ruling on the Patriot Act. This level of debate and discussion on domestic spying and surveillance is long overdue. According to a recent interview National Intelligence Director Mike McConnell, though, such debate is intolerable. He doesn’t call it un-American or un-patriotic, like some folks like to […]

You might not know, though, that before that the corporations SHAC targeted hit back with various other legal tactics. Restraining […]
