Unfortunately the little mainstream media coverage of so-called “eco-terrorism” has been the unquestioning use of the T-word to describe sabotage and property crimes. (The recent cases in Seattle and now in Michigan are great examples of the press getting so wrapped up in the sexiness of that story that civil liberties implications are nowhere to be found). It’s great to see folks using community media and other outlets to get a more critical discussion going. From Worcester Indymedia:
In this clip from the cable access program Soapbox, Ron Madnick of the ACLU and Anne Lewenberg and Rachel Hamilton of Worcester Global Action Network discuss the Green Scare and voice disapproval of S.1959, the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007.
